After debuting with a resounding 3-1 victory over Santos yesterday at Maracanã, coach Caio Júnior praised the red-and-black team's performance. According to the coach, the team from Gávea showed great confidence and gave the São Paulo team no chances.

- "The team was confident and this was the great merit of the committee. We gave the players peace of mind and repeated the team that lost. The group has a great atmosphere and that makes things easier. We could have even scored the fourth goal on the counterattack, but unfortunately we conceded a small goal at the end. Starting the Brazilian Championship with a victory is always important."

Caio Júnior highlighted the quality of Flamengo's squad. The coach believes the players will recover quickly from the trauma of their Libertadores elimination.

- "After the game against América, I started thinking about what I had to do. A coach isn't a machine and also has feelings. I was anxious, but nothing too much. But I felt the support of the group and the main focus is: Flamengo has quality. Therefore, the chance of turning around a bad situation is very high."
