For Caio Júnior, Flamengo is on the right path
The coach remembers that in the last two defeats, the red-black team played better than their opponents.
By Flamengo Archive - inAfter recreational training this morning in Gávea, coach Caio Júnior stated that Flamengo's last two losses in the Brazilian Championship haven't affected the atmosphere at the club. According to the manager, the red-and-black team is on the right track.
"We played well against Coritiba, we dominated, but we were a bit lacking in our finishing. Against Vitória, we had five or six chances to decide the match. We deserved a better result in both games. We're on the right track, and we'll keep working to get victories for Flamengo."
With the departures of Marcinho and Renato Augusto, Caio Júnior confirmed that the team is having some difficulty creating plays.
"We lost with the departures of Renato Augusto and Marcinho. We need to find another player in that role. We're working on a way to connect the midfield with the attack."
Caio Júnior believes that the change in leadership at Portuguesa could be a boost for the São Paulo team's players.
"It's always a different kind of stimulus. I have a lot of respect for Valdir Espinosa. I played for him twice. I'm sure he'll make things very difficult for us. Portuguesa is strong at home and has good players."
