For Ibson, the Brazilian Championship was exciting
After the great victory over Sport, the number 7 guarantees: “We are alive in the fight for the title”.
By Flamengo Archive - inAfter a big win over Sport on Saturday at Maracanã, Flamengo reached 46 points in the Brazilian Championship, four behind leaders Palmeiras. For player Ibson, this year's Brasileirão was exciting, as the points gap between the top-placed teams is so small.
"Everything got very complicated. Palmeiras and Grêmio have 50 points, Flamengo, Cruzeiro, and São Paulo have 46. The Brazilian Championship was very exciting. We have every chance of winning the sixth title. We have to focus solely on ourselves, doing our part, and getting results. It was a good weekend for Flamengo. We're in a good spot, and now it's time to focus on Náutico."
Ibson points out that facing Náutico at Aflitos is always very difficult. Even knowing the challenges, Ibson believes the red-and-black team will perform well.
"Beating Náutico in Recife is difficult, but not impossible. We have the potential to win there. We'll have to work hard this week to be prepared. If we want to win the title, we have to get points away from home."
Gávea's number 7 put an end to the controversy surrounding his substitutions.
"Everything is calm. There are no problems here at Flamengo. I'm very happy with the victory over Sport. I'm very demanding of myself and I think I was playing well on Saturday. No one likes being substituted, especially at that point in the match. I want to make it clear that I respect and will continue to respect Caio Júnior's decisions. There's no need to create controversy where there isn't any. Caio Júnior made good moves, so much so that Vandinho decided the match."
