For Joel, it's time for decision
Upcoming games will decide Flamengo's future in the Championship.
By Flamengo Archive - inCoach Joel Santana led a training session today (25/10), in Gávea, aiming at the match against América-RN, Sunday, at 16 pm (Rio de Janeiro time), and at 15 pm local time.
In the training session, the reserves won 1-0, with a goal from Obina. The coach fielded Bruno; Léo Moura, Fábio Luciano, Ronaldo Angelim, and Juan; Jaílton, Cristina, Ibson, and Toró; and Maxi and Souza. In the final part of the training session, Joel made two changes, replacing Maxi with Obina and replacing Jaílton with Léo Medeiros.
Training was curtailed due to heavy rain in Rio de Janeiro, but Joel believes the team is ready for the match.
"The team is ready for the match. We'll travel knowing what we want. We weren't able to complete our tasks as planned because of the rain, but the team knows what to do on the field."
For the red-black coach, the game against América is the first in a series of decisions that the Club will face.
"What we have to understand now is that this is a decisive moment. These games will decide our future in the competition. It will be a test to see if our team is truly prepared."
At Maracanã, Flamengo has achieved its best results in this Championship, being one of the best teams to have played at home. To win away, the coach wants a different approach than when playing at the Rio stadium.
"It's different playing at Machadão. We have to be very attentive and behave differently on the field. The attention we showed in the away game against Paraná serves as an example for this match."
