For Juan, the Brasileirão title is still possible
"We can't give up on the title. It's gotten harder, but it's not impossible," said the left-back.
By Flamengo Archive - inLeft-back Juan returned to Flamengo on Thursday afternoon after participating in the Brazilian National Team's 2010 World Cup Qualifiers. The Gávea number 6 believes that Sunday's classic against Vasco, at Maracanã, will be another difficult game in this very balanced Brazilian Championship.
"It's a decision for both teams. Every game is decisive now. It will be a very difficult match, especially given the rivalry between the two clubs. They are two great teams, with two great fan bases, and whoever is better will win. A victory would restore confidence and morale. We are ready and will go after the victory."
For the player, the focus of the entire Flamengo squad must be winning the Brazilian Championship. Even with Flamengo in fifth place, Juan assured that the team remains in contention for the sixth title.
"We're close to the top four and we can't give up on the title. We know it's gotten tougher, but it's not impossible. We have to stay focused on the title, with a lot of determination and fight. Our group is strong and was built to win titles. Now we have to win our games, hope our rivals lose, and perform well in the head-to-head matches, because it will be very important."
