For Leo Moura, "wanting to win is the most important thing."
The captain believes that the determination to fight for a spot in the Copa Sudamericana is one of the main factors.
By From the official website team - inThe will to win. That's one of the main characteristics that Flamengo needs to show in the final stretch of this year's Brazilian Championship. Needing positive results to get out of the bottom of the table and also secure their place in next season's Copa Sudamericana, the red-and-blacks know they need to take to the field with a lot of motivation in each round.
The right-back and captain of Flamengo, Leonardo Moura, believes that this type of behavior is key for the team to overcome its difficult situation in the competition.
"We are determined. Wanting to win is the most important thing. Even playing away from home, we have to fight for a victory. It's the determining factor," said Leo, who avoids talking about possible results that might favor one team or another in the competition.
"This whole 'favoritism' thing doesn't exist. Take Cruzeiro, for example, who are fighting for the title with Fluminense, but none of that is true. Just look at last year. They said Corinthians would make it easy, that Grêmio would make it easy, and those were two complicated games," he stated.
Leo also asks that the team remain calm, even during the most difficult moments, in order to overcome challenges and achieve positive results.
"We have to stay calm. Sometimes things don't go right in the game, but we'll do everything to play well. In this final stretch, we have to work with joy, seek results, and maintain confidence. It's worse to be downcast. When we step onto the field, we just need to be serious and confident," he concluded.
