After the match against São Paulo, at Pacaembu, (2-0 defeat), Flamengo coach, Reinaldo Rueda, gave a press conference to journalists and explained his options for the match, as well as giving an overview of the game and talking about Flamengo's future in the competition. 

The coach chose to field Flamengo with an attack made up of Everton Ribeiro, Éverton, Geuvânio and Berrío, with the idea of ​​keeping more possession of the ball throughout the match. 

"The idea with Geuvânio and Éverton Ribeiro was to have the ball and control the game, with skillful players," explained Rueda, who gave his view on the result obtained by the home team. 

"São Paulo was very dedicated, played a good game, was very aggressive and thus achieved the result. Competitiveness changes a lot from game to game. Today, São Paulo was very dedicated." 

For the coach, Flamengo had control of the match, but was unable to finish with precision to convert chances into goals. 

"The chances were created in the first half. After that, we didn't stop playing. In the second half, we were more aggressive, but we didn't finish," commented the coach, who also spoke about his promise to win 10 games out of the 10 that the team still had to play. 

"We need to earn important points to reach our goal. My statement seemed very bold, unrealistic for Brazilian football. Corinthians is leading because they've won four games in a row. It's something that has to happen," he concluded. 

Flamengo returns to action this Wednesday against Fluminense in the CONMEBOL South American Cup at 21:45 p.m. at the Maracanã Stadium. In the Brazilian Championship, the next match will be the Clássico dos Milhões on Saturday at 19 p.m. against Vasco da Gama, also at the Maracanã Stadium.
