Flamengo faces another challenge in the 2018 Conmebol Libertadores. Leading Group 4 of the competition, the Rubro-Negro will host Independiente Santa Fé (COL) in a Maracanã stadium "energized" by more than 45 fans who cheered the team on during the final training session before the continental duel. Due to the punishment imposed on the club, the game will be played behind closed doors.

Four points in two games and two consecutive matches against the Colombians. Good results can bring peace of mind to Flamengo in such a difficult group. Regarding the opponent, they are high-quality and will need to be very focused, as highlighted by striker Vinicius Junior.

“A lot of dedication, a lot of attention, to take advantage of (the opportunities) like Paquetá did with the first ball of the game (against Vitória). It will certainly be a very difficult game. Against Emelec and River, they played on equal terms. In the Libertadores, you need to be very focused to come out victorious,” he said.

The opponent is going through a turbulent period. Currently 13th in the Colombian Championship, they lost their coach last weekend, who was fired. On the other hand, Flamengo will be without the support of their fans, which, according to defender Juan, has a solution: concentration.

"We need more concentration. Those moments when the fans push us forward, we won't have tomorrow. We don't have all the energy that comes with a Libertadores game. But we have to put into practice everything we've been doing," he emphasized.
