This Sunday, May 15th, star player Adílio celebrates his 60th birthday. The idol has achieved countless accolades with Flamengo. A key member of the team that won the Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup, Adílio demonstrated his versatility on the field, playing both as a defensive midfielder and in the more advanced midfield position throughout his career.

"Brown," as he was known by his teammates, wore the jersey of the Most Beloved from 1975 to 1987. He made 615 appearances for the club, placing third in the rankings for most appearances in the Sacred Mantle. One of the number 8's greatest strengths was his passing, always precise and perfectly timed. His ability to control the pace of the game, retain possession, and initiate the team's attacks made him one of the greatest players in our rich history.

Among the titles won, he played a decisive role in the 3-0 victory over Liverpool in the 1981 Club World Cup, scoring the second goal of the match. In 1983, he scored the goal that sealed the victory over Santos, securing the Mais Querido's third Brazilian championship. Other important titles on his resume include the 1980 and 1982 Brazilian Championships and the 1978, 1979, 1981, and 1986 Carioca Championships.

After retiring from the field, Adílio also established a brilliant career as a futsal player. Playing as a power forward, he won the 1989 Futsal World Cup and represented the Brazilian national team. As a coach, he also won several titles, most notably when he led the under-20 team, winning the Carioca Championship three times in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
