Patrícia Amorim tells Andrade: "We want to continue"
At a ceremony in the Chamber, Flamengo's president-elect tells the coach that it won't be difficult to reach an understanding

Andrade hadn't yet received the Pedro Ernesto Medal Set at the Rio de Janeiro City Council when he heard the most important of the morning's many speeches and testimonies: that of Councilwoman Patrícia Amorim, president-elect of Flamengo. "He's a friend. He deserves all the honors. I don't know if we'll be able to pay him everything he deserves, but he deserves it (laughs)."
Patrícia Amorim made it clear that she's confident a contract renewal agreement will be reached with the coach, who led Flamengo to its sixth-title title. "We don't want to change. We want to continue this trajectory. We need to be calm and see what we need to do, what we can resolve. We'll definitely reach an understanding. It won't be difficult. Everything will work out," said the former swimmer, who will be Flamengo's president for the 2010-11-12 term.
After Andrade's statements on Monday, in which he expressed some concern over not having agreed to a contract renewal, Patrícia Amorim sought to reassure him. She said that, like the coach, she is in a whirlwind. "This is a good time, but the confusing nature of contract renewals is. That's the worst of all problems," she added, adding that building a new team would be much more difficult.
Patrícia also revealed that the pressure for signings comes from within her own household. "I wake up with my son bringing names [of players]. But it's important to keep and care for those who are there. I hope we can count on all of you until the end," she added.
Andrade received the municipality's most prestigious honor this morning. The honor was initiated by Councilwoman Clarissa Garotinho (Republican Party).
