The red-black striker spent almost seven months recovering from a serious injury to his left knee.
By Romulo Paranhos - inThe top scorer is back! After a serious injury to his left knee, striker Pedro has been called up for an official match again. On Wednesday morning (9), he received the news that he will be available to Filipe Luís for the match against Central Córdoba, at 21:30 pm, at Maracanã, for the second round of Group C of the Libertadores.

Last September, Pedro tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during a training session with the Brazilian national team, requiring surgery. Since then, the number 9 has been undergoing treatment at Ninho do Urubu and, at the end of February, was cleared by the medical department to begin physical training.
Upon learning that he was selected for the match, the striker was confident and sent a message to the Nation:
"I believe the entire recovery process was excellent, from the surgery, through each phase, each process, and I'm very confident about this return. I'm also hopeful and hope to repay him with goals, with great desire, as always, and to give my best every day, in every game for Flamengo. People, I want to thank all of you who prayed, who waited for my return, and after seven months, I'm back here and I hope to win more titles and score more goals wearing the Flamengo jersey. May God bless you."
