Nothing better than maintaining this excellent average to turn the storm into a calm in Rio de Janeiro. That's the opinion of striker Vagner Love, the Flamengo's top scorer this season, who hopes to bring a smile to fans' faces after the rain-induced tragedy in the Marvelous City.
The Love Gunner acknowledges that his mission is to score goals and guarantees that, if it's up to him, he'll repeat his strong performances. However, he emphasizes the importance of strong teamwork. After all, what matters is victory.
"It's important to play well and get the three points. Of course, it's always good to score goals, I want to score as many as possible, but the important thing is that we can win and get this qualification on track," said Love.
In this difficult mission to reclaim the lead in Group 8 of the Copa Santander Libertadores, Love will be without his key attacking partner. "Emperor Adriano" is out of the match with back pain. And according to Vagner, he will be missed.
"Adriano is a player who is always missed. For the group, and also for me, who always makes plays with him up front. But it happens and we have to be focused on winning, even without him," he said.
