Éverton and Alan Patrick also created danger, but Gatito Fernández made good saves. Figueirense created danger twice, but Alex Muralha prevented the opening of the scoring. In the second half, the red-and-black team entered the field determined to turn the score around. Coach Zé Ricardo substituted Márcio Araújo for Mancuello, giving the team even more attacking potential. Many chances were created, but the Santa Catarina team's goalkeeper was in inspired form and prevented the equalizer.
