In addition to the open training session held last Tuesday (17) at Maracanã, another remarkable moment took place on the stage of this Wednesday's (18) match against Independiente Santa Fé, for the Conmebol Libertadores. Before the activities, Julio Cesar immortalized his hands on the stadium's walk of fame.

After playing for major teams in world football and also for the Brazilian National Team, the goalkeeper chose his beloved club to bring his victorious professional career to a close. 

In this second stint, Julio Cesar is wearing the number 12 jersey, which was retired in homage to the fans. As a gesture of affection and respect for the goalkeeper's career, the number has been reinstated for someone who, in addition to being an athlete, is a member of the Biggest Fanbase in the World.

"For me, it's a source of great pride, without a doubt. When I heard the news, I was quite emotional. To be immortalized at the Maracanã alongside so many important players and names in football is an honor. Not even in my wildest dreams, as I wrote in the Maracanã's golden book, could I have imagined this. I took the opportunity to thank everyone involved, who gave me the opportunity to do what I love most in my life and provided me with important moments in my career. This was to close the book with a golden key and was also the cherry on top of the cake," said the goalkeeper.
