Pet bets on the success of the duo with Camacho

Serbian believes that a mix of experience and youth can work at Flamengo

Flamengo will face Grêmio this Saturday at Maracanã Stadium with a new midfield formation. Coach Rogério Lourenço is expected to field Lenon, Maldonado, Camacho, and Petkovic, banking on the mobility of the defensive midfielders and the creativity of the midfielders. The members of this creative midfield duo have very different characteristics, but they also share a lot of similarities.

Serbian Petkovic believes that combining his experience with Camacho's youth could yield positive results for the red-and-black team. According to him, the number 43 has everything it takes to follow in his footsteps and become a club idol in the future.

"Camacho has a lot of quality and if he's well-honed, he could be a star and an idol for Flamengo tomorrow. This combination of experience and youth usually works. You always need to have experienced players and talented youngsters in a group," he said.

While Camacho has played 90 minutes in each of the last two games, Pet has yet to play a full match in 2010. This Saturday could be a good opportunity for that.

"I haven't played a single 90-minute game this year. Some people thought I wouldn't be able to. But when I can, I'll ask to play, and I want to. I've trained well physically and have been given the all-clear to train normally. I'm at the coach's disposal," he said.

Retribution - Happy with the praise from a player with such a history at Flamengo, Camacho, just 20 years old, hopes to repay on the field the trust he has received not only from Petkovic but also from all the players in the group and the coaching staff.

"I'm very happy and I hope to live up to the trust everyone has placed in me," he added.
