Pet bets on Zico's success at Flamengo

Serbian believes that Galinho's experience can make a difference in red-black football

One of the greatest midfielders in the recent history of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo has nothing but praise for the eternal number 10 from Gávea. Dejan Petkovic, hero of the club's four state championships and one of the biggest names in the club's sixth national championship, believes in Zico's success as the club's executive director.

The Serbian congratulated president Patricia Amorim on her work and expressed confidence that, with Galinho leading the football department, Fla will take important steps towards the future.

"I thought it was a wonderful move by Patricia. When no one expected it, news like this comes along, about Zico taking over football, and everyone—players, board, managers, and sponsors—will support him. It's bound to work out, and this is part of Flamengo's plan to stay on track, getting things in order, and fighting for titles," he analyzed.

With a renewed contract with the club until the end of 2011, Pet still doesn't know what he'll do when he hangs up his boots, but he's thinking about continuing in football. Perhaps he'll join Zico's team in the future?

"I would welcome an invitation with great pleasure and 200% willingness. I trust Zico will do a great job. He has experience as a manager and coach, he has helped CFZ grow significantly, he has worked abroad, and that is important. He is a respected person, he will help Flamengo, and whoever he chooses to collaborate with will be willing to help," he added.
