One of the most experienced players on Flamengo's roster, Serbian Petkovic is more than accustomed to experiencing ups and downs in football. At 37, the midfielder is well aware of the pressure the Flamengo team will face from the fans in the coming days and throughout the Brazilian Championship, but he believes the team has the ability to deliver a positive response on the field.
Looking forward to the debuts of Renato Abreu and Leandro Amaral, recently signed by the red-black club, Pet believes that the Fla group will perform better with the addition of reinforcements to the team and is betting on the improvement of the team's performance in the Brasileirão.
"We lost some important players, but we're in the fight. Renato will debut, as will Leandro Amaral, and I believe the team is likely to improve. The Flamengo squad knows itself, knows its potential, knows it can perform better and will," he analyzed.
Coach Rogério Lourenço agrees and should promote these changes in Flamengo's next match in the competition, Saturday (14.08), against Ceará, at Maracanã.
"Amaral's quality is undeniable. Previously, the idea was to work with them without rushing the process. Now, there's a good chance they'll both be in Saturday's match," he concluded.
