At 37, Pet claims to be in peak physical shape. The foreigner didn't lack match fitness in the match against Botafogo and is expected to start against Tigres as well.

"Physically, I'm fine, without any problems. The pace of the game affects my physical condition a little, more than my technique, but I was calm. I wasn't tired and I believe I'm 100%," he said.

Whether he's a starter or a reserve, Petkovic only cares about helping. The midfielder has no preference for teammates. Quite the opposite. He praises all his teammates and the strength of the Red-and-Black squad.

"I'll try to help Flamengo, as I've always tried to do. I'm not thinking about fighting for a starting spot. I just want to be as good as possible on the pitch.
