Serbian Petkovic suffered a hard tackle from midfielder Pierre and, with a lot of pain in his left ankle, left the Pacaembu pitch in tears. Therefore, there is concern among players and coaching staff about the situation of the Gávea number 10.

Right-back Leonardo Moura assured that the team is rooting for the player's speedy recovery and reveals that now is the time to support his teammate and wait for a diagnosis to know whether or not he will play on Saturday.

"I saw that he was complaining of a lot of pain. Now we have to wait the next 24 hours and see what happens. I hope it wasn't serious. We have an important game on Saturday and we're counting on him. We hope everything works out," he said.

Doctor Marcio Tannure treated the matter with caution and revealed that Petkovic will be re-evaluated upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro.

"He sprained his ankle, is in pain and will be treated today (Wednesday) and tomorrow. So we will do a re-evaluation to be sure of the severity of the injury and give a decision on whether or not he will play on Saturday," he explained.
