Pre-season day #1 - Re-presentation and first exams
By Matheus Oliveira - inWith part of the squad, the red-black pre-season began on Thursday afternoon (04). Returning from loan, midfielders Jonas and Ronaldo, as well as midfielder Jajá, participated in a series of exams and physical assessments carried out by professionals at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA).
Goalkeeper Gabriel Batista, right-back Kleber, defender Thuler, and midfielder Jean Lucas, who have been training alongside the professional squad since last season, were also evaluated. The tests focused on clinical, cardiological, orthopedic, physiological, and physical therapy aspects.
Present at the return of these seven athletes were football director Rodrigo Caetano, football manager Mozer, head of the Medical Department Dr. Márcio Tannure, supervisor Sérgio Helt and other members of the red-black technical committee.
At the end of the activities, carried out both at CEP FLA and on the pitch at Field 4, physiologist Daniel Gonçalves explained the function of these first tests.
"The goal of today's work is to help the athletes regain the rhythm of activity they lost during the holidays," explains Daniel. "We conduct a series of assessments to determine the athlete's performance, with the aim of individualizing training. In parallel, the athletes undergo activities. On this first day, cardiorespiratory conditioning activities were performed," comments the physiologist, outlining the sequence of tests.
"New assessments will be carried out tomorrow, with the aim of mapping their body composition, knowing their exact strength limits, understanding their cardiorespiratory condition so that we can individualize their training and also reinsert them into conditioning activities," he concluded.
Work at CT George Helal will continue this Friday (05), with full-time training for the athletes who returned this afternoon.
