Pre-season Day #13 – Marlos Moreno Presentation

After the afternoon training session, striker Marlos Moreno was officially presented as the first reinforcement for the red-black team for the 2018 season. In a press conference in the Victorino Chermont Press Room, Marlos spoke to journalists alongside President Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, Vice-President of Football Ricardo Lomba and Executive Director Rodrigo Caetano.

The 21-year-old Colombian analyzed his physical condition upon arriving at the Mais Querido and assured that he will seek to take advantage of the opportunities he receives. "I'm in very good physical shape. I've been training since December. I think this is a great opportunity to show my level," said the striker, who described his main playing characteristics. "I'm skillful, fast, I enjoy one-on-one situations, and I like helping my teammates with attacking plays," he added.
The athlete trained with the squad that reported last Saturday, January 13th. For this group, the preseason continued with physical and technical activities on the pitch. Starting the morning session with the "prep pillar" at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA), which consists of injury prevention and muscle preparation exercises, the players proceeded to Field 4 for ball training.
Led by coach Paulo César Carpegiani and assistant coach Rodrigo Carpegiani, work focused on passing accuracy kicked off the field activities. Next, the focus was on maintaining possession, with passing, movement, and interception drills performed in designated areas of the field.
In the afternoon, the intensity of training continued to rise, once again focusing on physical and technical aspects. Meanwhile, on Field 5, the athletes who showed up on January 4th worked on tactics, with an eye on the Mais Querido's debut in the Campeonato Carioca. In the evening, the group traveled to Volta Redonda, where they will face the home team at the Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, with kick-off starting at 21:45 p.m.
