Kicking off the day, the athletes began preparing for training with the 'prep pillar,' which consists of muscle activation and injury prevention routines. The activity continued with a metabolic change-of-direction exercise, aimed at increasing heart rate and emulating field situations.
On a previously marked circuit on the ground, physical trainer Gustavo Araújo guided the athletes, who took turns running it. Coordinating upper and lower limb movements was complemented by high-intensity running, both on the outward and return journeys. Next came the intermittent runs, both with changes of direction at pre-established points.
To conclude Sunday's training session, the group performed additional cycling work, also focusing on increasing heart rate by alternating load and exercise intensity. Afterwards, the group headed to the ice bath to speed up the recovery process.
This Monday (08), training will resume full time. In the morning, strength work will take place. Meanwhile, in the next session, the athletes will head to the pitch, where the physical-technical activity will take place.
