Preseason Day #6 – Ball Activities

By - in
The red-and-black team's preparation for the 2018 season continues to gain intensity as the days go by. Activities that prioritize physical fitness continue to dictate the tone of training sessions at Ninho do Urubu. However, ball exercises are increasingly gaining attention from athletes and coaching staff.
With the State Championship debut on January 17th against Volta Redonda in mind, physical and technical training sessions will increase in frequency for the seven athletes who returned on January 4th. After injury prevention and muscle activation activities carried out at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA), the group moved to Field 4, where the ball was involved in the training.

Specific exercises focused on driving and coordination opened the training session on the field. Next, attention was focused on maintaining possession, as well as improving passing and movement techniques, prioritizing the players' agility and decision-making.

In the afternoon, technical development continued to receive the main focus. After a quick warm-up session, with coordination exercises and short sprints, accompanied by ball dribbling from a certain point in the activity, the training session began.

Even under the blazing sun, concentration levels remained high. With the participation of players from the club's youth academy and guidance from assistant coaches Rodrigo Carpegiani and Mauricio Barbieri, as well as goalkeeping coach Rogério Maia, finishing was practiced before the ball maintenance activity, which concluded the day's activities.

The pre-season will continue on Wednesday morning (10).
