City Hall sets up special traffic plan for Flamengo vs. Emelec
The match will be valid for the CONMEBOL Libertadores and will start at 21:30 pm at Maracanã
By Rio de Janeiro's city hall - inTo accommodate the expected crowds and minimize traffic impacts, the City Hall, through CET-Rio, has set up a special traffic plan for this match. The traffic operation will involve 102 personnel, including Municipal Guards, CET-Rio controllers, and support staff. There will be 12 operational vehicles and 18 motorcycles, which will work to maintain traffic flow, prevent illegal parking, manage intersections, guide pedestrians, and enforce roadblocks throughout the event.
Eight variable message boards, both mobile and fixed, will also be used to inform traffic closure times and alternative routes. Special traffic signal plans will be implemented to ensure smooth traffic flow. The Rio Operations Center (COR) will monitor the entire event area with cameras, allowing CET-Rio technicians to adjust traffic signal schedules based on current traffic conditions.
No parking areas will be created for the event. Therefore, it is recommended that private vehicles not be used. The Public Order Secretariat (SEOP) will deploy tow trucks at strategic locations throughout the event area to curb illegal parking and ensure traffic flow. Illegally parked vehicles will be removed to municipal storage facilities. Additionally, five CET-Rio tow trucks (light and heavy) will be positioned to clear roadways in the event of a vehicle breakdown in the area.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
Vehicles must use the following alternative routes:
1. Coming from the Center and South Zone
• To Tijuca - Use the Paulo de Frontin and Dr. Satamini route or follow Praça da Bandeira, Rua Pará/Rua Paraíba and Rua Mariz e Barros;
• For Vila Isabel and Grajaú, use the routes above and then Rua Major Ávila and Rua Felipe Camarão.
• For the Greater Méier region, use the Visconde de Niterói Street route
2. Coming from Tijuca, Grajaú, Vila Isabel and surrounding areas
• For the Center and South Zone, use the Conde de Bonfim – Haddock Lobo route
3. Coming from Greater Meier
• For the Center and South Zone, use the Rua Visconde de Niterói route
SURROUNDING RESIDENTS
Vehicle access for residents in the immediate vicinity of Maracanã Stadium – Prof. Eurico Rabelo, Visconde de Itamarati, Isidro de Figueiredo, Artur Menezes, and Conselheiro Olegário Streets – will be via Paula Sousa Avenue and Prof. Eurico Rabelo Street, upon presentation of proof of residence. Due to the large number of pedestrians in the blocked-off area, residents are requested to that, if possible, they adjust their travel times, avoiding driving during the closed hours.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
• Use public transport (metro, train and bus) to arrive and leave the event;
• Taxis, vans and unaccredited vehicles will not pass through the blockades;
• Residents must bring proof of residence.
