President celebrates qualification in the Libertadores

Wednesday couldn't have been happier for Flamengo president Patricia Amorim. In the morning, she watched the club's star swimming signing, Cesar Cielo, win his first gold medal wearing Flamengo's cap at the Maria Lenk Trophy. That evening, she went to Pacaembu Stadium and celebrated the team from Gávea's qualification to the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores, a feat not achieved since 1993.
The president, beaming, celebrated the changes made to football and said that the group and coaching staff are on the right track to bring much joy to the Red-Black Nation.
"I did what I felt was important at the time, and it ended up working. When we have a good intention, things work out in our favor. I do everything to make Flamengo the best it can be. The club is bigger than all the ones who have passed through and are here. I wanted to give the group peace of mind to work. It's not ideal yet, but we're on the right path, and that path is to consolidate these changes. All of this will create greater security for the team to go further," he stated.
