While coach Rogério Lourenço kept the Flamengo lineup for the club's Brazilian Championship debut against São Paulo a secret on Sunday, club president Patricia Amorim put an end to another mystery this Saturday. In a press conference after training at the Ninho do Urubu Training Center in Vargem Grande, she assured that she would appoint Rogério as the team's first-team coach.

There are still some details to be worked out for the hiring process, but if it's up to the president, it won't be long before that happens.

"Rogério Lourenço will be Flamengo's coach. He will be made permanent. All that's left is to resolve the financial issues and sign the contract," he said.

According to Patricia, interim management is a reality in everyone's lives, but the president's wish is for Rogério to be very successful leading the team.

"It's my wish, and I believe it's his too. I don't know for how long, because in this life we're all temporary, but I want him to stay for a long time," said the president, who also said she is keeping an eye on the signings of reinforcements.

"When I signed Cesar Cielo, a lot of people said he would go to Corinthians or stay at Pinheiros, and today he's here. The fans can be sure that we're working on this issue," he added.
