Lottery will help in the administration of clubs

Eight Rio de Janeiro clubs—América, Bangu, Americano, Olaria, Vasco, Botafogo, Fluminense, and Flamengo—signed a contract this Monday at Caixa Econômica Federal headquarters to pay off their FGTS debts in installments, a prerequisite for participating in Timemania. The presidents of Flamengo, Botafogo, and Fluminense spoke to Rádio Brasil about the importance of the Sports Lottery for the maintenance and management of their soccer clubs.

"It's important to change the management model of all Brazilian clubs. The moment we signed with Caixa Econômica Federal and then with the INSS (National Institute of Social Security) and the Federal Revenue Service, our brand began to be exploited. We already received a positive debt certificate to mobilize assets and change the management of the clubs so that debts no longer arise and to try to keep the athletes in the country," said Flamengo president Márcio Braga.

"It's a fight that Bebeto, Márcio, and I have been involved in for three and a half years. Without Timemania, no club can be managed," said Roberto Horcades, president of Fluminense.

"We hope for immediate success. It's a huge responsibility, as commitments to the government must be kept. The first test could take place in February, and we hope it's a success. Fans who play for their club have the opportunity to contribute even more," said Bebeto de Freitas, president of Botafogo.
