Flamengo's fan membership program brings news starting this Wednesday (21)
Changes will be announced gradually and promise a complete overhaul of the Nation
By Flamengo Communication - inThis Wednesday (21), FlaTV spoke with President Rodolfo Landim and the Vice-Presidents of Communication and Marketing, Gustavo Oliveira, and Football, Marcos Braz, to make a big announcement: the reformulation of Flamengo's fan membership program, which is now called Nação.
The conversation was broadcast on Flamengo's official YouTube channel before the match against Junior Barranquilla, in the group stage of the 2020 Conmebol Libertadores, and gave a taste of the news to come.
"What we're delivering is an evolution of what we already offer to our club members. Starting October 28th, we'll be delivering even more. So, in addition to discounts and priority ticketing, which we already have very strong, we're adding content, interaction, and many other features," stated Gustavo Oliveira, Vice President of Communications and Marketing.
And the first and most notable change is the new brand, which has a more modern design and a direct reference to the Biggest Fan Club in the World. Also during the chat with FlaTV, Gustavo Oliveira explained a bit about the concept behind the new brand:
A brand should be simple and straightforward in understanding what it represents, as well as beautiful. The great merit of this new Flamengo fan brand is that it features one of the most representative elements of the fans: the waving Flamengo flag. Furthermore, we have the name: Nação. I don't need to say anything else. Nação is Flamengo. Flamengo fans know what Nação is; they don't need to say they're Flamengo. So we combined the name Nação and the Flamengo flag into a beautiful and powerful brand, a connection between the club and its fans.
In addition to the brand changes, the conversation also addressed the importance of fan club members to the club's sporting success. Vice President of Football Marcos Braz highlighted this unity:
- Predictable revenue is crucial for entering the market to make signings. You gain ease in bringing in players because you have secure resources. You can plan ahead, make a much more comprehensive plan, and then compete with the world's biggest clubs for certain players—as was the case recently with Isla, to give an example.
The Club's President, Rodolfo Landim, also made a point of highlighting the importance of each member and thanked them for their support.
"They are fundamental to defining our investment level. I'd like to extend my sincere gratitude to all our fan members who have remained loyal to the club, even during this pandemic and stadium closures. They were essential for us to keep our commitments. We will continue working to offer more and more content and products to our fan members, and we will strive to expand this relationship."
