Promise of a good fight for the spot in defense
David wants to regain his position, but praises Jean and Welinton who played well when they had chances.

With defender David back in the game and having played well against Santos last Sunday (05.09), coach Silas now has another player in the position he has demonstrated he can start. In other words, there will be a good fight for a spot alongside Ronaldo Angelim in the heart of the red-black defense.
David gave a press conference this Monday (06.09) and demonstrated his desire to regain his starting position, but he also praised his teammates and said he was ready to help Flamengo, which is the most important thing.
"This battle for the defensive position alongside Angelim will be healthy and very productive for Flamengo. Jean and Welinton had opportunities to play because of the issue with my renewal and performed well. But I received another chance against Santos and did my best to convince Silas that I have what it takes to continue in the starting lineup. I respect my teammates, but I always work with the goal of being on the field. I think this should be the attitude of all players, especially those at a big club like Flamengo. I was happy with my performance and hope I pleased everyone," he said.
The defender also took the opportunity to highlight the Rubro-Negro's good performance in the duel with Santos and thanked the fans for their support even though the result was not what was expected.
"It's a situation that concerns us, but Silas is working hard to correct it. The team created many scoring opportunities against Santos, especially in the first half, but unfortunately, the ball just wouldn't go in. The fans can be sure that the whole team is doing its best to improve. I'm confident that we will be rewarded and that this phase will soon pass," he added.
