Still fighting for a place in next year's Libertadores, Flamengo's players promise that the fans will see a vibrant team in the team's farewell match at Maracanã in 2008. Everyone knows that beating Goiás is essential for the team to keep alive the dream of finishing the Brazilian Championship among the top four and they assure that the last chapter for the red-black team in front of their fans will be special.
"We're not in any mood for a party. We're still fighting for a spot in the Copa Libertadores, and fans can be sure we'll fight hard for a victory in this farewell match at Maracanã. Our fans deserve this for everything they've done for Flamengo this year," said Toró, confirmed in midfield and who will complete 99 games for Flamengo tomorrow.
Experienced, Kleberson shares his teammate's view. He believes each player must enter the field certain that only victory will keep the hope of a happy end to the year alive.
"We've had some difficult matches at Maracanã, so we need to go into Goiás with a calm head. We need to leave a positive impression in this final home match, and we'll certainly do everything we can to keep the Libertadores dream alive."
