On the morning of this Thursday (19), Tite called up the team that will face the Colombian National Team in a friendly match on January 25th. The proceeds from the game will go to the families of the victims of the Medellín air disaster, which resulted in the death of players, members of the coaching staff and directors of Chapecoense, as well as several members of the press who would cover the final of the 2016 Copa Sudamericana.

Among those called up for the charity match, four red-and-black players were remembered by the Brazilian National Team coach.

For Alex Muralha, being part of the national team is nothing new. The goalkeeper was part of Tite's squad for several South American qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The owner of the Sacred Mantle, number 48, caught the coach's attention in 2016, after a great season in goal for the Mais Querido, particularly in the Brazilian Championship.

Another Flamengo player included in the squad is left-back Jorge. A frequent call-up to the youth national teams, this will be the 20-year-old's first appearance with the senior national team. The number 6 was named the best player in his position in last year's Brazilian Championship and caught the attention of the Brazilian national team coach.

A likely candidate for Tite's call-up last season, Willian Arão is part of the squad for the first time in 2017. The midfielder worked with the Brazilian national team's manager at Corinthians for two years, and was highly praised by the coach for his recent performances.

Finally, another important return to the cast is Diego.

His impressive return to Brazilian football did not go unnoticed by Tite, and the midfielder is back with the Brazilian national team after seven years. His history with the yellow jersey goes back a long way. His first call-up came in 2003, at just 17 years old. His peak performance for the national team came in the 2004 Copa América, when he initiated the play that resulted in the equalizing goal that sent the final against Argentina to penalties and saw Brazil win another continental title.

The last time so many red-and-black players were called up to the Brazilian national team was for the 2011 Super Clássico das Américas. Renato Abreu, Thiago Neves and Ronaldinho Gaúcho played for the team that beat Argentina at the Mário Kempes Stadium, in Córdoba.
