Modern football increasingly makes players versatile. In Brazil and abroad, athletes who perform multiple roles on the field are very successful. Inspired by this, Rodrigo Alvim is seeking a place at Flamengo. With this characteristic, the player, who can play both left-back and midfielder, has been training hard to earn a starting spot.

Signed to fill the left-back position as an option to replace Juan, Alvim has previously played in midfield and defense while playing in Europe. Before joining the Red-Blacks, he played for Wolfsburg in Germany.

"I'm originally a full-back, but I've played in midfield and even as a defender. Andrade spoke to me before training and asked if I'd be comfortable in that role. I played alongside Toró in midfield and I want to make my contribution to Flamengo," he said.

During Monday's training session, the player came on in Fernando's place and performed very well. Alvim assures that he won't have any problem playing in the position if needed. He made himself available to Andrade for whatever may come his way.

"In modern football, it's important to be prepared to play in multiple positions. In Germany, I played in the middle on a few occasions and I have no problems with that. It's important to have this control and do whatever the coach asks," he concluded.
