Since the last round of the Taça Rio, the second half of the Campeonato Carioca, midfielder Ramón had been waiting for an opportunity to play. On that occasion, Flamengo defeated Friburguense 3-0, but Ramón, who had performed well in his other opportunities, failed to perform as expected, was substituted, and only returned to the team last Wednesday, in the derby against Fluminense.
If on that occasion the result was good, but Ramón ended up not performing as expected, this time he believes that, despite the defeat, he managed to show some of his best football.
"It was a good game for me. The result ended up being negative, but I think the team improved when Diego Maurício and I came on, and that was important. It was only 45 minutes, but I think I showed that I can have chances," he said.
Despite being happy, the midfielder believes he can still perform better. According to him, a lack of match rhythm hindered his performance against Fluminense.
"I haven't played for a while, and of course the lack of rhythm is a bit of a hindrance, but little by little it's getting better, I'm evolving and I hope to help Flamengo a lot," said the player, who says he's ready to play a sequence of games in the Brazilian Championship.
"Unfortunately, I didn't get any opportunities in the Libertadores, but now I've started to get them in the Brasileirão and I hope to get a run of them. On Saturday we have an important game against Grêmio, and if I play again, I'll try to do well to earn everyone's trust," he added.
