The first thing that catches your eye about Ramon, more than his braids, is the giant gold chain around his neck, bearing his name. But the player, a Flamengo midfielder, wants to become better known for his football. "I'm a midfielder who makes passes and assists. At CSKA, I played further back, but at Flamengo, I'll play in my position and try to make my own plays toward goal," he described his characteristics this Friday morning, at the press conference where he was officially introduced alongside Rodrigo Alvim.

A product of Atlético-MG's youth academy, with a brief stint at Corinthians, Ramon spent three years at CSKA, from where he now comes to Gávea on a one-year loan deal. "This opportunity is unique. I'm going to pursue my goals. Show the kind of football I played at Atlético-MG and with the U-17 national team. Playing outside of Brazil is different. I've matured a lot," said the 21-year-old.

Hired to be the team's creative director, Ramon knows that his idol Petkovic has a starting spot. "For everything Petkovic has done for the club, we have to respect him. I'm only 21 years old. I came here to contribute. I'll look for my place. When I get the chance, I'll try to do my best, whether it's in Petkovic's place or another player."

The player said he needs 10 to 12 days to be fit to play. He was on vacation at CSKA after a break in the Russian league. "I've been working hard for four or five days," said the athlete, who had the chance to work with Zico in Russia. "He was someone who helped me a lot at CSKA. Someone I have to thank a lot."
