Yesterday afternoon (06) at Maracanã couldn't have been better for Everton Ribeiro. The number 7 was one of the highlights of Flamengo's 2-0 victory over Internacional. In addition to scoring a beautiful goal, the midfielder was very effective in the offensive sector, participating in practically all of the Mais Querido's dangerous plays.

Everton Ribeiro's last goal in the Flamengo jersey had been almost two months ago, against Portuguesa in Cariacica. Even so, the number 7 had been helping Flamengo with good passes and a lot of commitment on the pitch, and he was rewarded with a truly beautiful goal. After the game, Everton spoke about the play that enchanted and thrilled the more than 60 Flamengo fans present at the Maracanã.

“I’ve scored a few goals like that, cutting inside and shooting. It’s great to be able to score my first here at the Maracanã with all this celebration. Now it’s about continuing to work to keep helping Flamengo. I saw that the fans were asking me to pass to Vinicius, but at the time I took the initiative. The fans want to see goals, and I’m happy to have achieved that. Their support is a huge incentive. We might get tired at the end of the match, but with their support, the strength appears,” said the number 7, recalling that the goal was his first for Flamengo at the Maracanã.

The last few weeks haven't been easy for the number 7, who has faced personal problems alongside his wife, who is expecting a child. Even so, Everton Ribeiro remained focused on improving his performance, thanked the fans for their support, and projected progress for the Flamengo team this season.

“We know there’s a lot of pressure; playing for teams the size of Flamengo is like that. We can’t get carried away with the victories, because there are still some things we need to improve. We’ll continue working in the same way to keep evolving and achieving positive results.”

Finally, Everton reiterated his confidence after scoring the goal and took the opportunity to praise the work that Maurício Barbieri has been doing.

“Scoring a goal is important. Of course, it gives me confidence and helps me improve my game to help the team. Our relationship with Barbieri has been good from the beginning. It's clear that it gets better with victories. He's a guy who is working hard, putting together a game plan that we understand well and it's working. Now it's about continuing to send him positive vibes, because he's doing a good job,” he concluded.
