Officially announced and presented. Midfielder Thiago Maia, the new number 33 for Flamengo, gave his first press conference as a Flamengo player on Thursday afternoon at Ninho do Urubu. He spoke about the emotion of playing for his beloved club.

"I'm very happy, I can't wait to play at the Maracanã with the fans singing and cheering. Having played against them before, I can only imagine what it must be like playing for them. It will be a dream come true," said Thiago.

"It was my father (who made him a Flamengo fan). I have an uncle who even wears Flamengo underwear. It's in my blood. I caught the passion for Flamengo. It's a dream come true. I say this from the bottom of my heart: I'm very happy to be here," he added.
