Considered key players in Flamengo's push for the 2010 Brasileirão, forwards Deivid and Diogo, who were introduced last Monday (23/08) at Gávea, are excited about the club's future prospects. Both praised the quality of the squad and expressed confidence in a strong showing at the end of the first half of the competition.

Diogo believes the pressure will be intense, but he's banking on the strength of the current Brazilian champion squad to compete for good positions in the Campeonato Brasileiro. The striker believes the team has been playing well, but he's also not counting on luck.

"The responsibility is huge, we know that, but of course our teammates will help. And with them, we can get through this. The team is good, but we just need a bit of luck to get the ball in. For me, the team played well in the first half against Atlético-PR, we just needed a goal, but we'll work on that and the team will fight for the top spots," he said.

Experienced, Deivid has already won two Brazilian Championships and knows this type of competition well. According to him, maintaining consistency is crucial; after all, there's no point in placing well in the first rounds if that doesn't continue into the final round.

"I'm used to pressure. I've played for several big teams, and for me, that won't be a problem. I have to give my all on the field, run, and try to do my best to help the team. The whole group has to be responsible. Flamengo is going through a difficult time, but it will pass," he added.
