After competing in the Rio de Janeiro Futsal Championship, where they reached the semifinal stage in all categories and won three titles, in addition to the Ricardo Lucena Cup, Flamengo is preparing to face the excitement of the 2008 State Championship. The red-black team is confirmed in all eight categories and promises to shine even more with new reinforcements.

New reinforcements have arrived in Gávea for the adult team to help them win more titles. Saulo Galvão, Diego Carvalho, Michel Conhasco, Jaxwell dos Santos, and Rafael Silva have already joined the squad and are training alongside coach Cid Escarlate's team.

The 2008 State Futsal Championship will begin on August 9th for the under-09 to under-17 categories. The adult competitions will begin on the 15th. The women's and youth competitions do not yet have set dates.
