Reinforcements stand out in training match
Marquinhos (two) and Borja scored in a 4-0 rout of Artsul in Gávea
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inNext Sunday (July 25.07), Flamengo faces Internacional at Beira-Rio and will have important absences for the match. Welinton and Kleberson, suspended, will not start against Colorado. This leaves two spots open in the red-and-black team for players who don't usually start. This is the case of the team that played in a 4-0 thrashing of Artsul in a training match played this Thursday (July 22.07).
Flamengo took the field with Paulo Victor, Everton Silva, Jean, Fabrício, and Rodrigo Alvim; Romulo, Camacho, Michael, and Marquinhos; Cristian Borja and Val Baiano. In the second half, coach Rogério Lourenço made some changes to the team, bringing in Vinícius, Romulo, Jean, and David; Lenon, Maldonado, Fernando, Marquinhos (Saba), and Leo Medeiros; Paulo Sérgio and Val Baiano.
And while coach Rogério Lourenço is still looking for attacking options, in addition to the absences of Welinton and Kleberson, the newly signed Marquinhos and Borja stood out in the session. Flamengo dominated the match and had no trouble securing the victory. The session was watched by Vice President of Football Vinícius França, Executive Director Zico, and the coaching staff.
Marquinhos, now registered with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), scored Flamengo's first goal with a beautiful shot from outside the box. Colombian Cristian Borja scored the second. Midfielder Fernando added the third, and Marquinhos, again, added the fourth.
