Clube de Regatas do Flamengo announces Reinaldo Rueda as the new coach of its professional soccer team. At 60 years old, Flamengo will be Rueda's first Brazilian club. His last job was at Atlético Nacional, in Medellín, Colombia, where he won the Copa Libertadores, the Copa Colombia, and the Colombian Superliga in 2016 alone. The following year, he won the Recopa Sudamericana and the Apertura, as well as the Clausura, which he won in 2015. He became the coach with the most titles in charge of the team.

Known for fielding highly attacking teams, Rueda transformed Atlético into a winning machine. He played 143 games, winning 82, drawing 37, and losing 24. His team scored 238 goals. In last season's title run, the team finished the campaign unbeaten at home. 

The Colombian coach also achieved important results against the Honduran and Ecuadorian national teams, qualifying them for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, respectively.

Reinaldo Rueda's presentation will take place this Monday at CT George Helal, after the 15 p.m. training session. Assistant coaches Carlos Eduardo Velazco and Bernardo Redin will also join Flamengo.
