Renato admits he is below expectations at Fla

Supporter knows he can do more and wants a reaction in Saturday's match against Vitória

A player who is highly identified with the red-black fans and considered one of Flamengo's main signings for this second half of the year, midfielder Renato has not yet managed to have a great performance since his return with the Mais Querido shirt, against Ceará.

Since then, there have been six matches, and the number 11 admits he can perform better in the next 18 games of this year's Brazilian Championship. However, he emphasizes that this isn't the only reason the team hasn't been winning.

"I've always made it clear that this is the situation, and bad things happen when results don't happen. I haven't had much time to train. If Flamengo is in this situation today, it wasn't because of my arrival. We have to talk, fix these mistakes, improve. A moment of urgency arose, I had to play, and we haven't had time to train. I accept this part of being in bad shape physically, but people have to see the bigger picture. Flamengo isn't losing because of this," he said.

The midfielder lamented Diogo's expulsion in the first half of the match against São Paulo, but expressed confidence in a reaction next Saturday, against Vitória.

"We had a very early red card, but I don't think we should get discouraged. We need to fix our mistakes and go for the win on Saturday. We have a good team with the ability to turn this situation around," he added.
