Banned from this Thursday's classic against Fluminense, at Maracanã, midfielder Renato Augusto is not guaranteed to be present in next Sunday's match against Palmeiras, in the 20th round of the Brazilian Championship.

The player suffered a grade 1 strain in the posterior muscle of his right thigh in the 2-1 victory over Náutico on Saturday, and the club's medical department prefers to be cautious before releasing or banning Renato for the game that marks the opening of the second half of the Brasileirão.

"He's ruled out for the game against Fluminense. Now we'll wait to see how his treatment progresses, which is being done intensively. It's still Tuesday, and I'd rather wait a few more days to give a more concrete statement regarding Sunday's game," said doctor Walter Martins.
