After nearly sixty days without starting a match, midfielder Renato Augusto could be the big news for Sunday's (November 11) match against Santos at the Maracanã. The player has been training with the starting lineup, replacing Argentine Maxi, and can't wait to get on the field.

"This is the time. We have to go out there thinking only about winning against Santos. These will be three very important points to secure our place in the Copa Libertadores."

Renato Augusto came on as a second-half substitute in the 3-1 loss to Cruzeiro. With excellent movement, he improved the team's performance in the second half. He hopes to repeat his strong performance.

"I felt really good in the last game. Starting as a starter will be important. I hope to put in good performances again, because that's what the fans expect from me."

For nearly two months away from the field, Renato Augusto watched the team's run in the competition from the stands. For the player, it was a very difficult task.

"It's easier on the field. It's much harder in the crowd. I suffered a lot watching the games at Maracanã. Now on the field, I hope to help the team achieve victories."
