Renato Augusto: "I'm ready to play"

Having recovered from the left thigh injury that sidelined him for three Flamengo games, midfielder Renato Augusto trained normally on Monday and Tuesday and is in the squad for the derby against Botafogo this Wednesday. However, the player wants more than just to be included in the squad list.

"I'm ready to play. My lineup depends on the coach. I went to both games the team played at Maracanã while I was injured and cheered a lot for my teammates, now I want to be able to contribute with my football again. I miss seeing the fans from the field."

Already looking ahead to this Wednesday's match, Renato stated that he does not consider the black and white team the favorite and reciprocated the praise given by Botafogo midfielder Lúcio Flávio, who said he considers him one of the main players in the red and black squad.

"As they say, a classic is a classic and vice versa. There's no such thing as favoritism. As for Lúcio Flávio, he's an excellent player. He takes free kicks with extreme skill and has been making a difference for Botafogo in the Championship. I admire his style, but I hope to beat him this Wednesday."
