Renato says he still needs more game rhythm

One of Flamengo's main signings for the second half of 2010, midfielder Renato believes he is still below his best performance. The number 11 played his second match for the Rubro-Negro last Sunday (August 22.08) since agreeing to return to Gávea, but believes he needs to gain match fitness to be able to help the team in the best way possible. Therefore, he is already thinking about the duel with Atlético-MG, on Thursday (August 26.08), at Maracanã.
Aware that he still needs to improve in some aspects, both physical and technical, in addition to, of course, gaining a little more chemistry with his new teammates, Renato hopes that the sequence of games the team will have in the coming days will be positive.
"I'm out of rhythm and I need to improve. But now we have a match in Rio de Janeiro and we're going to try to get the win," he said.
The midfielder had a good chance to score against Furacão, but ended up missing the shot. In his analysis, the entire team could have made better use of some of the opportunities they created to leave Arena da Baixada with at least a point.
"I missed a chance I had against Atlético-PR at the end. But only those who try make mistakes. Our team had good chances and could have come away with a draw," he added.
