One of Flamengo's main hopes for the rest of the Brazilian Championship, midfielder Renato Abreu trained again as a starter for Rogério Lourenço's team this Thursday (12.08), and gave his first press conference after being presented as a reinforcement for the Rubro-Negro. On the eve of his return to the Gávea club, the number 11 believes that, despite being praised by his teammates and the coaching staff, he can still improve a lot in the future.

"I'm grateful for the praise, but it's still not enough. I know I can still improve a lot, with my team spirit and physical fitness. I'm trying my best to be in real playing condition to play a good match and help Flamengo win. I don't know how I'll be doing yet, but I hope that with training, I can develop some team spirit to help the team," he said.

Aware of everything the fans expect from his football, Renato asks for patience from the fans and says that he cannot be treated as a solution, but as another member of a group that is closed in search of good results with the red-and-black shirt.

"It's important to make it clear that we're here to help the group. We're not the solution to Flamengo's problems. We all have to be united and strive to do our best on the field. Of course, we need to improve our physical fitness a bit, but everyone here has their own responsibility. There's no point in me just coming in and saying I'll solve the problem. Football is a team sport," said the midfielder.

Documentation arrives - The Al Shabab supporter's documentation has already been sent to the club and he is expected to be registered with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) this Friday (August 13.08). Despite not being in the best physical shape or chemistry with his teammates, he expects a successful debut this weekend.

"I've had little training time. It was just a group session with the players who are here, and that's not enough to really gel, but I know some of them, I know their characteristics, and I hope I don't have any problems. My physical shape isn't at its best yet, but I'm trying to be as good as I can be," he added.
