The mood at Flamengo, despite having only managed two points in the last five games, is one of motivation. The red-and-black team's desire to turn things around in the Brasileirão is immense and was not shaken after the goalless draw against Santos on Sunday (September 05.09th) at Maracanã. Supporter Renato is one of the most experienced players in the group and most identified with the club, and he believes the team cannot give up.
"The team did well, created chances, unfortunately we couldn't score. The farewell wasn't the way we would have liked, but now it's time to lift our heads," he said.
According to him, the team played well against Santos. The result, for him, serves as proof that the competition isn't easy and that there's no room for compromise.
"It was good for what the team showed. It's a lesson for us that the Brazilian Championship is really difficult, even when you play at home. At least we didn't concede a goal. Now, we have to go for the three points away," he said.
Renato only regretted that the challenge on Diogo, in the last minute of the game, was not awarded as a penalty by the referee.
"We fought hard until the end and, in the last play, it was a penalty for us," he concluded.
