While Flamengo will play its ninth game at the João Havelange Olympic Stadium, midfielder Renato, one of the club's main signings for the season, will make his debut at the Engenhão this Sunday (September 19.09th). Aware of Flamengo's good record at the venue, he hopes to bring good luck and start with a victory at the team's new home.

"It's good to have the historical record in our favor. It will be my debut at Engenhão. I've never played there, but I've seen it on TV, it's a beautiful stadium and I hope we can continue these winning streaks and come away with another victory," he stated.

Renato believes that, as the traditional football cliché goes, "a derby is a derby and vice versa." According to him, there are no favorites in a duel like this against Fluminense.

"There's no favorite. The championship is very evenly matched. We're close to the relegation zone and also to the South American qualification zone. Fluminense is in the lead and has already lost to the last-placed team. It's a dynamic championship, good to play in, where everyone has a chance to be champion. It's the best championship in the world for me," observed the midfielder, who says he is improving in this return to Flamengo.

"I'm improving with each game, I hope to continue the work, with a series of games, training hard, so I can perform better and help Flamengo," he concluded.
