Much has been said in recent days about the physical condition of the players returning to Brazilian football from Arab countries. Renato agreed to return to Flamengo, played a few matches in the jersey, and, to improve his physical condition, was rested for the defending champion's final match in the 2010 Brasileirão, against Vitória, last weekend.

Knowing that he can help the team by being in better physical condition, the midfielder wants to see Flamengo win, whether starting on the field or on the bench.

"I missed a game, prepared myself to improve physically and hope to help. There's always something missing, especially when the result doesn't come. It was two days of intense physical training and I want to help however I can. That's always my mindset, whatever the situation," said Renato.

The midfielder explained that he's always been willing to help Flamengo since his arrival, but emphasized that he wasn't yet 100%. Now, he hopes to return to performing as he did during his first stint with the club.

"When I arrived, it was like this: I made myself available to Rogério at the time. I said I wanted to help without getting in the way. The team won, and then it was forgotten that I wasn't in such good physical shape. Now I've worked hard and I'm better. But if technique doesn't work, you'll have to work hard. Flamengo is like that; you have to fight hard to win," he concluded.
