Renato reveals "big plans" for 2011
Ambitious, supporter wants to take Flamengo to the top again in the season that begins

He was missed when he left for the United Arab Emirates, but he returned as an idol and hopes to live up to all that support in 2011, as last year's results didn't come as expected.
Renato's confidence for the coming year is high. Pleased to be wearing the red-and-black jersey for another season, the midfielder reveals his ambitious plans. Aware of the responsibility of helping Flamengo win titles again after a lackluster 2010, he emphasizes the importance of well-planned planning to achieve results.
"I'm happy to be here again, in another presentation. Working here is great. I have big goals in mind for 2011 and I hope to achieve them. We can expect a lot. First of all, we have to plan well. Last year, we didn't get the results we wanted, but this time it's different. The whole group has been together since the beginning, the preseason will be important and we'll set our goals," noted the number 11, noting that the season will be very long with four competitions to be played.
"There will be four championships, a long season, so it's important to prepare quickly so we can focus on the Carioca, which starts at the beginning of the month. I welcome those who are arriving. You'll find a great, united group that gives a lot of themselves. We'll all be even more committed to leading Flamengo back to the titles," he emphasized.
Harmony with the fans is also a concern for Renato. He hopes to count on the support of his 12th man whenever possible to push the team forward, whether in the Carioca, Copa do Brasil, Sul-Americana, or Brasileirão.
"We also have to work hard for the fans. This relationship always makes a difference. The fans and the players always play together. When one isn't doing well, the other isn't either. It's a good demand. This year will be different from last year," he concluded.
